The Position
This full-time, in-office role for Construction Estimator is responsible for the initial review of construction estimates in Xactimate and Symbility, providing feedback and recommendations with detailed justification through line-item notes that align with our goals. The estimator is also responsible for creating construction estimates from the ground up based on digital sources.
This is a new position for DSI, with potential to evolve into a management role overseeing a team. The position involves working with the V.P. of construction to develop SOPs and process maps to streamline estimating. It is primarily in-office, with some work from home opportunities.
The starting salary ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience, with up to a 20% bonus.

Candidate Profile
- Review job site info from photos and notes
- Estimate projects using Xactimate and Symbility
- Provide training and feedback to estimators
- Understand and provide feedback on software adjustments
- Submit estimates within deadlines
- Experience with 3D scanning software like Matterport is a plus
- Effective communication with team, project managers, and insurance adjusters
- Produce supplements and change orders as needed
Requirements
- Expertise in Xactimate and Symbility
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience, 10+ preferred
- Ability to produce profitable estimates
- Experience working with TPAs
- Ability to handle high volume and work under tight deadlines
- Ability to train estimators on industry standards and trends
