Compensation Range: $43,642 - $91,830 per year. Placement on the salary schedule is based on verified, comparable education and experience. For more information on range placement, please review the REA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Curriculum Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) executes the continuous improvement tasks outlined in the strategic plans, budget, and annual audits of Curriculum, in order to support guaranteed and viable curricula, instructional shifts, and balanced assessment practices across all schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
* Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
* Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
* Leads curriculum development, revision, and review determined by the strategic plans, budget, and annual audits of Curriculum.
* Participates in listening sessions and working groups with building based leaders to facilitate curriculum revision.
* Regularly updates the Director of Curriculum on progress for creation and/or revision of curriculum.
* Collaborates with the Director of Instruction and teacher leaders to create opportunities for targeted support, peer collaboration, feedback, and professional learning related to a guaranteed and viable curriculum, instructional shifts, and balanced assessment practices across all schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Current professional educator license.
* Previous demonstration of successful teacher experience.
* Previous demonstration of success/interest in leading adult learning and large-scale projects.
* Previous demonstration of successful school leadership experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned to our core values of Character, Communication, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement.
* Proficiency in a variety of research-based instructional techniques and programs.
* Ability to effectively facilitate groups and work with adult learners.
* Proficiency in the administration and analysis of assessments and use of data to guide instructional practice and intervention.

WORK CALENDAR: 9 Months
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
LENGTH OF WORK: A Curriculum Teacher on Special Assignment will serve a two-year term after which they will be placed back into their prior teaching position or like position.
