Title: Learning, Behavior and Intervention Specialist
Reports To: Principal/Director of Student Services
Department: Student Services
Classification: 10 Month
JOB OVERVIEWProvide differentiated instruction with a variety of assessments in an environment conducive to learning.
QUALIFICATIONS- This position requires an LBS1 Endorsement, PreK-Grade 9, and/or Grade 6-Age 21
- A completed/submitted online application, resumé, and letters of recommendation as required on the online application
- Ability to work as a team member
- Applicants must hold valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other License as required
- Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first; recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will also be considered
- The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred
- Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and learning standards
- Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
- Utilize instructional management systems that maximize student learning
- Differentiate instruction and monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals
- Plans and supervises assignments for assistants and volunteers
- Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
- Meet professional responsibilities as outlined in the Staff Handbook
- Continue to seek professional development opportunities as required by the State for license renewal
- Maintain professional work habits
- Communicate effectively within the educational community
- Maintain your Professional Educator License as required by law
- Serve as a specialist to the education team and as a member of the Pupil Services team
- Plan and supervise assignments for Program Assistants working with all students
- Prepare an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students at least annually
- Maintain accurate documentation adhering to the dates and timelines set forth by Federal and State governments, and Community Consolidated School District 46
- Collect continual data reflecting growth tied to the students’ needs for support and/or the IEP goal
- Share in school-related duties as assigned by the building Principal
As per current State Law and the District’s current collective bargaining agreement
