Compensation Range: $43,642 - $91,830 per year. Placement on the salary schedule is based on verified, comparable education and experience. For more information on range placement, please review the REA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Purpose of the PositionThe Teacher understands the central concepts, methods of inquiry, and structures of disciplines and creates learning experiences that make the content meaningful to all students.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensures that all actions are in concert with Board policies and the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities to enhance ability to perform essential functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
- Plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Engages students in an inquiry‑based delivery model of instruction.
- Provides a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Uses a wide range of instructional strategies and technologies to meet and enhance the needs of a diverse student population.
- Considers equitable resources and instructional practices to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Updates and maintains all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies and school regulations.
- Creates and maintains a safe learning environment for all students.
- Demonstrates a variety of effective behavior management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students, including those with disabilities.
- Maintains discipline in accordance with building expectations and the district’s student code of conduct.
- Communicates necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs.

- Creates formative assessments aligned to district curriculum.
- Analyzes student data from both formative and summative assessments to drive differentiated instruction and data‑based decision making.
- Utilizes current technology to enhance student learning.
Illinois Teaching License with appropriate endorsements and certifications.
