Position: Assistant Principal/Dean 9-12 (2026-2027 School Year)

Assistant Principal/Dean, Grades 9-12

The assistant principal assists the building principal in all facets of school operations, student assessment programs, and monitoring of school budgets/expenditures. This position also assumes responsibility for functions of the building principal in his/her absence. This position also administers the student personnel program and counsels students relative to educational and co-curricular activities.

Supervisory responsibilities include certified and non-certified staff as designated by the principal.

Duties and responsibilities include ensuring actions are in concert with the Board policies, participating in job training and professional growth opportunities, implementing student personnel policies, interviewing students, parents, and staff to take necessary action in cases of truancy, delinquency, course failure, and/or discipline concerns, monitoring student achievement data, and assuming responsibility for functions of building principal in his/her absence.

Qualifications include a master's degree and Type 75 Certificate, experience in public school administration, proven record of providing equity in a public agency or school leadership, management and leadership skills adaptable to public relations, human relations, equity principles and planning capability.

Knowledge, skills and abilities include demonstrating qualities aligned to core values of character, communication, collaboration and continuous improvement, substantial knowledge and skills relating to the duties and responsibilities identified above, ability to work in a multi-racial organization ensuring equity with a diverse client population, and basic knowledge of computers and current technology.
