Salary and Benefits
  • Minimum Starting Salary (0 Years Experience with Bachelor’s Degree): $56,250.00
  • Maximum Starting Salary (31 Years Experience with Master’s Degree plus 60 additional hours): $

Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Illinois Teaching Certificate.
  • Understanding and experience with curriculum design, planning, and instruction.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students under the direction of the Building Principal/Director of Special Services/Director of Curriculum.
  • Supervise students in a variety of school‑related settings.
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
  • Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Plan, organize, and provide instruction based on Common Core State Standards.
  • Administer informal and formal assessments.
  • Incorporate district initiatives within instruction (adopted programs/policies).
  • Evaluate and assess student progress against instructional objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessments, diagnosis, and research related to learning.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of educational research, trends, and best practices.
  • Provide written feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate, efficient, and effective records for instructional and non‑instructional purposes.
  • Manage classroom organization.
Other Duties
  • Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Work cooperatively with the administration and staff to schedule meetings.
  • Participate in district‑wide and building committees related to educational and employment matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Teaching Framework Responsibilities
  • Plan and demonstrate practices that reflect knowledge of the content, prerequisite relationships, and discipline‑specific instructional practices.
  • Seek knowledge of students’ backgrounds, cultures, skills, language proficiency, interests, and special needs, and attain this knowledge for students.
  • Develop instructional outcomes of appropriate rigor and suitability, comprising a mix of activities and goals, allowing for viable assessment methods aligned to Common Core Standards.
  • Be aware of resources available through the school or district to enhance knowledge, teaching, and student support.
  • Coordinate knowledge of content, students, and resources to design a series of learning experiences aligned to instructional outcomes, addressing Common Core Standards and suited to students, with clear lesson structure and engaging learning.
  • Align assessment plans with instructional outcomes and Common Core Standards, using clear criteria, and plan future instruction based on assessment results.
  • Interact with students in a friendly manner, demonstrating care and respect.
  • Develop a classroom culture characterized by commitment to learning for both teacher and students, ensuring consistent student engagement.
  • Effectively manage instructional groups and materials, maintaining classroom routines.
  • Monitor student behavior, respond to misbehavior in a consistent, appropriate, and respectful manner.
  • Maintain classroom safety and accessibility, arranging physical resources appropriately and utilizing technology effectively.
  • Communicate instructional purpose clearly, explaining directions and procedures, with accurate, clear content tied to students’ knowledge and experience.
