Operations Training Instructor / Senior Operations Training Instructor – Braidwood Nuclear Power Station (Braceville, Illinois)
Job Codes:
XKAG (Instructor) – Expected salary $107,000 to $119,000;
XKAK (Senior Instructor) – Expected salary $139,500 to $155,000. Both include a comprehensive benefits package with bonus, 401(k) match, employee stock purchase, medical/dental/vision, disability and life insurance, PTO, and more.
Demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in designing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and modifying plant‑specific nuclear licensed operations training programs.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities- Drive performance improvement through training, coordinating and conducting performance‑based Reactor Operator/Non‑Licensed Operator programs in line with Constellation’s systematic training model.
- Maintain training programs current, incorporating INPO SXR reports, NERs, NRC bulletins, CEC design changes, procedure revisions, and new regulations.
- Prepare trainee examinations, conduct evaluations, conduct counseling sessions, and recommend individualized training programs.
- Support CEC and fleet on business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness, and special projects.
- Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits; prepare responses to audit findings.
- Maintain knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills, and teaching techniques appropriate to high‑quality training.
- Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports.
- Perform additional duties as directed, including emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage support.
- High‑school diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience, OR associate’s degree with 4 years of related experience, OR bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science with 2 years of related experience.
- Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 (4.5.4) standards for selection, qualification, and training of personnel for nuclear power plants.
- Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements; favorable medical examination/testing.
- Previous equipment operator with 6 years of related experience, OR associate’s degree with 4 years of nuclear technical background/6 years related experience, OR current/previous licensed Reactor Operator or SRO with 4 years related experience, OR bachelor’s degree with 3 years nuclear technical background/4 years related experience.
- Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 (4.4.3) standards for selection, qualification, and training of personnel for nuclear power plants.
- Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements; favorable medical examination/testing.
- Experience in commercial nuclear training.
- Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT).
