Make a difference in students lives as a full-time Occupational Therapist supporting schools in the Rockford, IL area. This rewarding contract position places you in a dynamic educational environment, working onsite across two schools (one at a time, no inter-school travel during the day) and engaging with a caseload tailored to your interestearly childhood, elementary, middle, or high school. Collaborate closely with general education and resource teams, as well as some self-contained special education classrooms, to help students achieve their educational and functional goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver OT services during regular school hours, onsite 37.5 hours per week.
- Provide direct therapy to students, utilizing evidence-based practices and individualized plans.
- Document student progress, develop and update IEP goals, and communicate achievements with school staff and families.
- Support classroom teams with sensory integration strategies and adaptive techniques.
- Act as a valued resource for teachers, contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois state license as an Occupational Therapist.
- Background in school-based OT or pediatric experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with sensory integration methods and creating measurable, school-based therapeutic goals.
- Collaborative mindset, effective communicator, and strong organizational skills.
