Intervention & Assessment Specialist (High School GED Program)
The Intervention & Assessment Specialist leads the coordination of attendance systems, academic interventions, and assessment processes for high school and Adult Education/GED programs. The position focuses on improving student persistence, measurable skill gains, and credential attainment by aligning attendance interventions, data monitoring, and instructional supports within a continuous improvement model. Compensation range is $47,203 - 99,323 per year.
The Intervention & Assessment Specialist ensures full implementation of required assessment systems, including regular CASAS testing in alignment with Illinois Community College Board grant requirements. They maintain test security, proper administration procedures, and required documentation for all state and local assessments. They coordinate, manage, and maintain compliance for all aspects of student assessment and surveys.
The specialist meets with students regularly to set short-term attendance and academic goals. They lead building-level attendance monitoring systems, including daily and weekly attendance tracking, for early identification of at-risk students and implement tiered attendance interventions. They collaborate with staff to align attendance strategies with instructional delivery.
The specialist supports data-based decision making aligned to MTSS/AIS frameworks. They lead weekly or biweekly data reviews with staff, focusing on attendance trends, assessment completion and outcomes, and student persistence and engagement. They manage and maintain detailed spreadsheets to track student enrollment, attendance hours, assessment data, and measurable skill gains, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting for program monitoring and decision-making.
The specialist coordinates tiered academic interventions for high school and GED students, ensuring alignment to assessment data. They support students in goal setting, progress monitoring, and transition planning (credential completion, postsecondary, or workforce) and promote accountability for attendance, assessment completion, and student outcomes. They facilitate connections to internal and external support services.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required with General Education or Special Education endorsements. Appropriate MTSS course work, MTSS implementation experience, and data collection experience preferred.
