Job Description

Bring your passion for early childhood special education to a rewarding part-time opportunity supporting preschoolers for the entire 2026/2027 school year. This contract position focuses on providing specialized instruction and care to young learners, fostering their development and helping build a strong foundation for future academic success.

As a special education professional in this dynamic setting, you'll play a key role in shaping engaging, inclusive classrooms while collaborating with a dedicated educational team. You’ll have the chance to tailor individualized learning plans, work closely with families, and see tangible progress in your students’ growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • LBS1 endorsement
  • Early Childhood Special Education certification or Early Childhood Education certification
  • Prior experience working in preschool or early childhood special education preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver special education instruction to preschool-aged children in accordance with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
  • Develop differentiated lesson plans and activities based on each child’s unique strengths and needs
  • Foster a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and cognitive growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to coordinate services
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress toward academic and developmental goals
