Director of Curriculum
The Director of Curriculum provides district level leadership in aligning development, revision, and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to support district school improvement efforts.
Supervisory responsibilities are not applicable for this position.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
- Participating in job training and professional growth opportunities to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performing other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Managing continuous improvement processes with school-based personnel toward guaranteed and viable Tier 1 curricula and assessment practices for Foundational Literacy, English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, and Physical education instruction across all K-12 schools and special programs as applicable.
- Monitoring and supporting alignment of guaranteed and viable curricula through the use of classroom visits, PLCs, achievement data, and implementation data in order to continuously improve instruction and student outcomes.
- Facilitating Professional Learning for instructional leaders, coaches, school-based personnel in collaboration with district leaders to ensure high quality curriculum implementation and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Collaborating with cross-departmental teams to analyze district and state data and make informed decisions regarding curriculum, instruction, and academic achievement.
- Valid professional educator license required; administrative endorsement preferred.
- Completion of the Illinois Performance Evaluation Teacher Evaluation Training within 90 days of the date of hire.
- Demonstrated record of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated record of successful school leadership experience.

- Proficiency in a variety of research-based instructional techniques and programs.
- Ability to effectively facilitate groups and work with adult learners.
- Proficiency in the administration and analysis of assessments and use of data to guide instructional practice and intervention.
