Role Summary

Senior Circuit Design Engineer with approximately 15 years of experience in aerospace electronic hardware development, specializing in detailed circuit analysis for safety‑critical systems. Possesses deep expertise in analogue, digital, mixed‑signal, and power circuits, with comprehensive working knowledge of PCB and board‑level design principles used in avionics and airborne electronics. Experienced in supporting designs across the full product lifecycle in compliance with aerospace standards and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities Circuit Design & Analysis (Primary Focus)
  • Perform detailed circuit analysis for aerospace electronic systems, including signal integrity, power integrity, thermal behavior, timing margins, noise, and reliability.
  • Design and review schematics for analog, digital, mixed‑signal, and power circuits used in avionics LRUs, sensors, control electronics, and mission‑critical subsystems.
  • Conduct worst‑case, derating, tolerance, and failure analysis
    , ensuring compliance with aerospace reliability and safety requirements.
  • Analyze and mitigate effects related to aging, environmental stress, EMI/EMI, vibration, and temperature extremes
    .
  • Support component selection based on aerospace qualification, reliability data, lifecycle, obsolescence, and supply‑chain risks
    .
  • Perform simulation using SPICE‑based tools to validate circuit functionality, margins, and failure scenarios.
  • Correlate simulation outcomes with lab measurements and environmental test results
    .
  • Define and review hardware verification plans
    , acceptance criteria, and test coverage at circuit and board levels.
  • Support qualification, acceptance, and certification testing activities.
  • Provide technical oversight and design reviews for PCB layout to ensure compliance with signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and aerospace manufacturability guidelines.
  • Guide layout teams on stack‑ups, grounding, shielding, creepage/clearance, derating rules, and high‑reliability routing practices.
  • Ensure designs meet DFM / DFA and are suitable for harsh aerospace operating environments, even when not performing hands‑on layout.
Aerospace Standards & Compliance
  • Develop and review hardware in accordance with DO‑254
    , ARP
    4754, and relevant aerospace development processes.
  • Support certification audits, design reviews (PDR, CDR), and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure hardware designs comply with safety‑critical, fail‑safe, and redundancy requirements
    .
System Integration & Debug
  • Support board bring‑up, system integration, and root‑cause analysis during prototype and production phases.
  • Lead complex hardware debugging using schematic analysis, simulation, and lab instrumentation.
  • Provide technical support for production issues, field failures, and corrective action investigations.
Technical Leadership & Mentoring
  • Serve as a technical authority for circuit design and analysis within the aerospace hardware team.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in aerospace design practices, circuit theory, and debugging techniques.
  • Review hardware designs for quality, safety, compliance, and adherence to organizational design standards.
Documentation & Process
  • Prepare and review design documentation
    , including requirements traceability, analysis reports, schematics, design rationale, verification evidence, and compliance reports.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of hardware development processes and design guidelines
    .
Required Experience & Skills
  • ~15 years of experience in aerospace / avionics electronic hardware design
  • Strong foundation in circuit analysis, analog and mixed‑signal design, and power electronics
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation, debug, and validation
  • Solid working knowledge of PCB design principles for high‑reliability aerospace applications
  • Experience working in certification‑driven, safety‑critical environments
Preferred / Value‑Add Skills
  • Experience with avionics LRUs, flight control electronics, or mission‑critical systems
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and environmental qualification testing
  • Exposure to redundant and fail‑operational hardware architectures
  • Prior experience as technical lead or design authority
