Role:Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, the ideal candidate will oversee manufacturing process development, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure products are built to engineering, quality, and safety standards. This position receives some work direction from Senior Manufacturing Engineers. Additional responsibilities include developing CNC programs, designing assembly layouts and fixtures, conducting time studies, and applying lean and structured problem‑solving methodologies to enhance production performance.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develop documentation for manufacturing processes such as process instructions, work instructions, FMEA’s, change requests, and process changes.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processes. Includes reviewing tooling, fixtures, and process for issues or improvement opportunities.
- Conduct process capability and time studies, revise processes as required for implementation of engineering changes, and provide production operator training on new processes and equipment.
- Interact with Product Engineering regarding design for manufacturability and with Quality Engineering to ensure process capability expectations are met prior to production release.
- Develop assembly process plan, automation schematic, plant layout, and installation tooling with considering ergonomic and poke yoke concepts during initial design and troubleshooting phases.
- Develop and continuously improve CNC program, cutting tools, fixtures, and work instruction to improve quality and reduce risk of injury.
- Participate and lead cross functional team setting such 8
Ds CAR, Kaizen, 5’s, and six sigma to help improve production first time pass performance. - Apply structured problem‑solving methodologies to determine root cause including 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc.
- Manage the resources, schedule, and costs to successfully complete a project within scope. Includes risk management, cost and time estimating, creating, and following a project plan, leading the project team, and reporting progress to the sponsor.
- Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- One year of experience in manufacturing engineering.
- Experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC/Panel view with the ability to interpret PLC ladder logic. Experience with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software, specifically Solid Works.
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
