Collins Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for on-site test stand design. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with test stand design using NX (Unigraphics) and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. This is a 1-year assignment with 1 FTE position focused on drafting and modeling test stands.
Key Responsibilities:- Drafting and 3D modeling of test stands using NX.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
- Participating in gated design processes and design reviews.
- Applying strong manufacturing knowledge to support design for production.
Skills & Experience:
- Proficient in UG/NX drafting and 3D modeling.
- Demonstrated experience with test stand design.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices.
- Experience with gated design projects.
- Aerospace experience is highly desired.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (some ITAR-controlled work).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- All work will be on-site in Rockford, IL.
- Candidate will work mostly on commercial projects with some ITAR components.
