The client is seeking a driven and technically skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of the complete lifecycle of critical mechanical equipment used in gas processing. From initial design and specification to commissioning and ongoing support, you will ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both technical design and hands‑on project execution while contributing to multidisciplinary project teams building and improving state‑of‑the‑art facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Take full responsibility for specification, selection, procurement, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Ensure pressure vessel and piping designs comply with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and ASME B31.3
- Collaborate with Process, Electrical, and Controls engineering teams to design and commission new equipment
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for key rotating equipment
- Provide troubleshooting support, maintenance strategies, and reliability improvements
- Assist in managing project scope, schedules, and budgets
- Support safe and efficient installation and startup of new systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus)
- 4‑8 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or chemical processing environments
- Working knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section VIII, Div. 1) and ASME B31.3
- Experience with industrial rotating equipment and mechanical systems
- Strong leadership skills with cross‑functional team collaboration
- Proven hands‑on mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Experience in environmental sustainability industries (biogas, renewable energy, waste treatment)
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to work in industrial environments
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Direct experience with centrifugal blowers, oil‑flooded screw compressors, or industrial mixers
- Project engineering or project management experience (cost and schedule management)
- Experience in gas processing, oil & gas, or chemical industries
- Military technical training
- Knowledge of industrial gases and pipeline safety
- Familiarity with commercial agreements and customer relations
- Mechanical equipment lifecycle management
- ASME code compliance (Section VIII, Div. 1 & B31.3)
