This Manufacturing Engineer position is not a traditional production role; it's a chance to shape and continuously improve our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) processes for a key existing product line. You'll lead initiatives focused on process documentation, efficiency improvement, and product enhancement while collaborating with cross-functional teams in Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
Your work will extend across Safran sites and Integrated Product Teams, contributing both to sustaining current programs and developing the next generation of aerospace innovations. - Reviewing and documenting current MRO processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers and Quality Assurance on resolving supplier inquiries for information and product defects.
- Analyzes and modifies product designs in collaboration with other teams such as Design Engineering to assure manufacturability.
- Develops design, selection, specification, and optimization of the required equipment, fixtures, tooling, gaging, processes, and operations.
- Determines other technical matters required to make a given product according to the desired volume, timetable, cost, quality level, and other specifications.
- Includes the monitoring of established processes via data collection for statistical analysis purposes as well as the use of various continuous improvement enablers.
- May evaluate manufacturing capability and provide technical support at the supply base.
- Develops procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
- Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
- Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment.
- Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
- May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- A Minimum of 1 year SAP related experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in 2D/3D CAD drawing creation/blueprint reading.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
