Sustaining Project Engineer – Mechanical Power Conversion

Location:

We are seeking an ambitious, driven leader to support production programs across a variety of technologies.

What You Will Do
  • Confidently provide clear, concise communications with customers, peers, and Collins leadership.
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide customer support for Field Failure investigations.
  • Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
  • Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.
  • Liaise between project management and planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support plant output.
  • Prepare project estimates and project plans.
  • Manage project schedule, budgets, and status.
  • Plan, direct and oversee activities of an Integrated Project Team (IPT).
  • Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece‑part issues affect product deliveries.
  • Understand and execute test procedures.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report out test results.
  • Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering setbacks.
  • Assess customer issues and develop resolutions that meet Collins and customer objectives.
  • Read and interpret drawings, provide mark‑ups, and coordinate drawing releases.
  • Document best practices into engineering standard work.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams across departments and business units.
  • Experience and/or understanding of the engineering change process.
