Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer

A Project Engineer position is currently available at Belcan in Rockford, Illinois. This is a full-time job, on-site, direct job with benefits. To be considered, you will need an Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar and a minimum of three years of experience in project engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or mechanical design roles. The successful candidate will assist and sometimes lead investigations on complex aerospace components.

Autonomy is expected. Products are cutting-edge military and commercial aerospace, engine mounted fuel pumps.

Job Duties:

Test failure response:

* Gather data pertinent to failure.

* Perform preliminary analysis of failure data.

* Coordinate with Collins" Assemblers, Test Technicians, Sustaining Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering as necessary to determine the path forward for the unit being evaluated.

Root cause investigation, including product analysis and proposed solutions.

Test specification updates.

Drawing changes

* Write engineering Change Requests (CRs) and deviations.

Other sustaining engineering work to be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

* Experience with precision products.

* Experience with root cause investigations.

* Experience with complex engineering drawings and product test procedures.

* Experience with engineering changes, deviations and dispositioning of damaged components.

Experience with estimating budgets and schedules.

* Two - five years of experience in Project Engineering for aerospace mechanical products.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to prioritize and balance multiple assignments

* Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required

Desired but not required skills:

* Previous design engineering experience for mechanical products in the aerospace field.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $70,000-$85,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
