The Engineering Supervisor will oversee the daily activities of the engineering team, ensuring efficient project execution and alignment with company goals. This role is responsible for providing guidance, leadership, and support to the engineering staff while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The Engineering Supervisor will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and purchasing, to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Supervise and provide direction to the engineering team.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and develop training plans for team members.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with other departments to support new product introductions.
- Provide technical expertise and problem‑solving support for complex engineering challenges.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing.
- Communicate project updates, changes, and status reports to upper management and stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross‑functional meetings to address project needs, resolve conflicts, and align on objectives.
- Promote a culture of safety and enforce company policies regarding safe work practices.
- Adheres to and supports 5S 1.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or closely related technical field.
- Project management.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally both written and verbally across all departments within the organization; for safety, performance, and productivity, must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to motivate, train, develop and supervise personnel.
- Ability to effectively operate department related tools and equipment.
- Technical knowledge of agricultural equipment.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with CREO design software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Valid driver’s license
- Primarily sedentary in an office environment; occasionally will work in the manufacturing area requiring safety footwear, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- This position requires the physical abilities and dexterity to operate all standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, keyboards, telephone, scanners, fax machines, copy machines, calculator.
- May also be required to observe or conduct experiments in the test field and may travel between plants.
- Consistently required to talk and hear.
- Visual acuity required.
- Regularly required to lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, lift, squat, twist, turn, climb, and push/pull when testing equipment or building prototypes.
