Location: Rockford, IL 61101
Contract Duration: 12+ month contract, possible extension
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Standard Business Hours)
Starting Pay Rate: $45–50/hr. on W2
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer III is responsible for optimizing manufacturing operations, implementing innovative technologies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across production processes. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products while maintaining compliance with GMP, ISO, and other applicable regulatory requirements. This is a fully onsite role based in Rockford, IL.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute process improvement and manufacturing optimization projects.
- Develop, validate, and implement robust manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical leadership and manufacturing support for New Product Introductions (NPI).
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve productivity and product quality.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Drive cost reduction, capacity expansion, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support equipment qualification, process validation, and change control activities.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Follow all required PPE and safety procedures, including the use of safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, ear plugs, and other protective equipment as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR an advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing engineering experience in a regulated industry.
- Experience with automation systems, PLCs, and manufacturing control systems.
- Expertise in process validation, equipment qualification, and change control management.
- Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
- Experience with CAD software and manufacturing documentation systems.
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and root cause analysis.
- Experience supporting engineers and technicians.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Experience working in GMP and ISO-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
