CNC Applications Engineer

Are you ready to take your engineering expertise to the next level? We're seeking a skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to join our team supporting advanced multi-axis CNC machine tools for diverse manufacturing customers. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy solving real-world challenges, and are excited about travel and hands-on technical work, this opportunity is for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with both pre- and post-order requirements for CNC machine tool applications, providing accurate cycle time calculations and process development to deliver top-quality customer parts.
  • Support new machine builds and turnkey projects – including onsite customer training, troubleshooting, and hands-on technical support.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes, select tooling, and drive efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Travel to customer sites in the USA and abroad (travel varies by project – sometimes up to 50%, sometimes none).
  • Analyze manufacturing process flow, suggest improvements, resolve technical challenges, and generate setup and process documentation.
  • Develop NC programs, 3D models, and process plans using leading CAD/CAM software (CATIA, Solid Works, AutoCAD).
  • Conduct process verification, optimize machining strategies, and apply advanced tool and fixture design principles.
  • Create and maintain Failure Mode and Effects Analysis documents to ensure robust production processes.
  • Represent the company professionally and build lasting relationships with customers through effective communication and hands-on expertise.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machining, process planning, NC programming (G/M codes), feeds & speeds, and CAM software.
  • Proficiency in mathematics, blueprint reading, and understanding machine tool capabilities.
  • Advanced CAD/CAM skills (CATIA, Solid Works, AutoCAD) and knowledge of Siemens controls a plus.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods (up to 2 weeks onsite at a time; flexible to project demands).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring customers.
  • Professional demeanor, customer-first attitude, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a valid green card.

Role Highlights:

  • Opportunity to grow into a Manufacturing Engineer position.
  • Challenging, rewarding work with hands-on technical tasks and direct customer impact.
  • Flexible travel requirements dependent on project cycles.
  • Join a supportive team dedicated to innovation, process improvement, and customer success.

If you're ready to be a trusted technical partner to customers, develop your skills with advanced manufacturing technology, and make a measurable impact, we'd love to hear from you!
