Senior Engineer, Sustaining Project Engineer; Onsite

Mechanical Power Conversion has an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious future leader. Mechanical Power Conversion (MPC) is growing due to high customer demand and needs a Sustaining Project Engineer. In this position, you will lead cross‑functional teams in engineering, operations, quality, purchasing, and other functions to support production programs across a variety of technologies.

As part of the project engineer role you will maintain engineering support for the production organization to ensure deliveries and commitments are met. You will manage internal and external customer relationships while maintaining constant communication with the sustaining team and management. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical components and assemblies and presents an opportunity to make a direct impact on the financial success of our site.

• Confidently provide clear, concise communications with customers, peers, and Collins leadership
• Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
• Provide customer support for field failure investigations
• Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability
• Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project
• Liaise between project management and planning, project teams, and production line management to support plant output
• Prepare project estimates and project plans
• Manage project schedule, budgets, and status; plan, direct, and oversee activities of an Integrated Project Team (IPT)
• Support quality investigations when piece‑part issues affect product deliveries
• Understand and execute test procedures; analyze, interpret, and report test results
• Verify internal processes are executed to reduce probability of engineering setbacks
• Assess customer issues and develop resolutions that meet Collins and customer objectives
• Read and interpret drawings, provide mark‑ups, and coordinate drawing releases
• Document best practices into engineering standard work

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Aerospace industry experience
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams across departments and business units
• Experience and/or understanding of the engineering change process

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
