Engineering Technician (Construction Observation)

Department: Civil/Environmental

Location: Rockford, IL

Compensation: $24.00 - $28.00 / hour

• Inspect contractor operations for compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Prepare project notes, calculations, and summary sheets following Fehr Graham documentation procedures.
• Keep daily records of contractor quantities and activities.
• Conduct field measurements for record drawings and communicate with project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Support the engineering and environmental functions of the firm.
• Work overtime beyond 40 hours, especially during construction season.

• An associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Architecture Technology, or CAD Drafting from a technical college or institution is preferred.
• Relevant experience may offset the educational requirement.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Team player attitude.
