Position Overview

This role is focused on project management and sustainable value creation for global hydraulics and cab components. The Hydraulic Project Engineer will collaborate with the global engineering team, hydraulic component suppliers, and procurement professionals to identify and deliver product value on business investments, while also serving as product design engineering lead for purchased, finished, supplier‑designed component new product introduction (NPI) projects.

This is a fully onsite role based in Mossville, IL.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the global engineering team, hydraulic component suppliers, and procurement professionals to identify and deliver product value on business investments.
  • Maintain the department's sustainable value creation dashboard, summarizing large data sets and extracting business opportunities to execute.
  • Communicate technical results clearly, including preparing and delivering leadership presentations.
  • Serve as product design engineering lead for purchased, finished, supplier‑designed component NPI projects, leveraging hydraulics component engineering processes and technical/commercial competencies.
  • Collaborate directly with supplier and company representatives throughout the NPI process.
  • Apply specialized technical knowledge of machine hydraulic system architecture, components, manufacturing processes and global sourcing to understand functional requirements, identify trends, and draft detailed component requirements and improvement projects.
  • Evaluate material properties and complete design analysis and verification activities.
  • Lead detailed collaboration sessions with multiple teams and conduct technical design reviews.
Typical Day or Week in the Role
  • Attend and/or conduct team meetings (mostly virtual) collaboratively with internal product development teams and suppliers.
  • Create and update project management plans, conduct product cost and design analysis and review engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Conduct project stakeholder reviews and analyze large data sets, organizing and summarizing impact and trends.
  • Apply technical knowledge of hydraulic component design methods, materials, metrology and specifications against application requirements to ensure supplier‑designed components with unique integration or performance features are developed on schedule.
  • Manage technical information protection, organize project deliverables and complete both team and independent deliverables, including preparing technical and commercial information for stakeholder reviews.
Team Structure & Work Environment
  • Workday expectations are aligned with the regional product development teams to enable collaboration during core business hours.
  • This is a fully onsite, office‑based role located in Mossville, IL.
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience required, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum preferred; candidates with an Applied Engineering or Technical Business background will also be considered.
Required Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency with collaboration and project management methods and Microsoft Office programs (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Power BI).
  • Ability to conduct analysis on large data sets, quickly summarize key results and trends, and incorporate findings into stakeholder reports.
  • Basic knowledge of the full product development lifecycle: business value, systems interactions, requirements gathering, functional specification authoring, product development methods, testing/validation, and value stream engineering.
Desired Technical Skills
  • Experience with modeling applications such as CREO, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and analytical reports.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic components or systems.
Required Soft Skills
  • Highly competent in both verbal and written communication, problem solving, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic ability to lead team meetings, work effectively both in a team environment and independently, manage one's time efficiently and take initiative in completing deliverables.
  • Detail‑oriented, analytical and innovative, with strong problem‑solving ability and a sense of urgency.
