The Rockford, IL Power and Controls division is looking for an entry level Electrical Engineer
1. This role is onsite, in Rockford, IL. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:
  • You will troubleshoot and diagnose electrical hardware issues related to field returns, Zero Hour returns, and production yield problems.
  • You will analyze alternate parts and write justification memos to support Obsolescence and Part Shortage issues to mitigate impact to production.
  • You will review and interpret electrical schematics, product manuals, and component datasheets to support investigations and issue resolution.
  • You will assist in schematic updates and design reviews following department standards.
  • You will perform basic design analyses in accordance with internal requirements and customer specifications.
  • You will support as cognizant engineer for product Test Equipment team and support and debug production test equipment as needed.
  • You will contribute to redesign activities focused on cost reduction, part obsolescence, shortages, and product improvement initiatives.
What You Will Learn:
  • You will learn how to apply electrical engineering fundamentals to real-world aerospace hardware challenges.
  • You will gain hands-on experience troubleshooting and analyzing complex electrical circuits and component.
  • You will learn best practices for schematic design, design analysis, and test requirements development.
  • You will learn how cross-functional teams (quality, operations, supply chain, test engineering, program engineering) collaborate to resolve product-level issues.
  • You will gain understanding of production environments, customer-facing support, and continuous improvement processes.
  • You will gain exposure to engineering tools such as Cadence schematic capture and circuit simulation software.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors, integrated circuits).
  • Understanding of circuit theory and system design principles.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Exposure to embedded systems, microcontrollers, or firmware concepts and troubleshooting hardware.
  • Experience with schematic capture or simulation tools (such as Cadence or LTspice).
  • Hands‑on project experience, internships, or co‑op roles related to electrical hardware engineering.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers).
