Teller Lead

Position Overview

Lead Teller – Retail Banking – Rockford, IL (Rockford Downtown Branch). The role involves coaching, mentoring, and leading tellers to deliver a unique customer experience, improve customer financial wellbeing, and grow branch revenue through identifying opportunities during customer interactions.

• Coach, mentor, and lead tellers by example to deliver excellent customer service and drive loyalty.
• Process a variety of customer interactions, including account openings, deposits, withdrawals, and teller-related transactions.
• Educate customers on alternatives and financial products available to meet their needs.
• Identify and refer banking opportunities to appropriate branch staff.
• Engage customers in lobby activities, positioning PNC products to meet their needs.
• Leverage technology, tools, and resources to manage financial transactions efficiently.
• Maintain clear communication, transaction handling, and problem resolution processes.
• Assist the Branch Manager with performance management and new‑hire selection processes.
• Ensure teller and branch daily operations and maintenance transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, demonstrating sound judgment within established limits.

• High school diploma, GED, or comparable experience; a university degree is not required for this level.
• 1+ year of related experience or product knowledge; related experience in banking, retail banking, or customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of customer experience, identifying opportunities, leveraging technology, and proactive sales competencies.
• Strong communication, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Experience in coaching or mentoring individuals is desirable.
• Understanding of fraud detection and prevention practices is a plus.

Base Salary: $37,500.00 – $62,500.00 (may vary by location and experience). The role is incentive eligible with payments based on company, business, and/or individual performance.

Rockford, IL – Rockford Downtown Branch. The position requires in‑office presence.
