We are hiring a Customer Service Specialist Trainee-Spanish Speaking option (Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee-Spanish Speaking) for our Taxpayer Assistance district office in Rockford, IL.

In this position, you will be trained in how to assist taxpayers and their representatives on the various tax types and tax laws affecting:
Individual Income Tax;
Withholding Income Tax;
Sales and Use Tax;
Business Income Tax, and Business Registration. You will also receive training on Gen Tax and MyTax Illinois software. While working with the department staff, taxpayers, businesses, and local governments on the telephone, in person, and through email, you will also learn interpersonal skills and acquire excellent customer service skills. The average training period will be 12 months which culminates in a promotion to the professional title of Customer Service Specialist I-Spanish Speaking (Revenue Tax Specialist I-Spanish Speaking).

Due to the nature of duties for this position and operational need, work is expected to be performed fully in office with no hybrid schedule available. If you have equivalent experience to the completion of four years of college or four years of work experience providing tax support functions within IDOR, have a desire to learn and help others, and you are fluent in English and Spanish, then we want you!
