The Barren River Area Development District (BRADD), a multi-jurisdictional planning and development agency, is seeking a motivated individual for the following position:
Infrastructure Management Planner.

The position serves as support for the Barren River Water Management Planning Council and provides assistance to individual utilities with project planning and development, and assists with the expansion of broadband and various infrastructure planning throughout the region. Responsibilities include preparation of project profiles, maintenance of resource information, grant application development and grant administration for funded projects, and other duties as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, Geography, Environmental Studies, or closely related field supplemented by two (2) years’ work experience in management or administration in Planning or a related field (a Master’s Degree will substitute for one year of work experience). A Master’s degree is preferred, but not required.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to attend evening and weekend meetings.
  • Frequent public and private contacts requiring tact and diplomacy.
  • Regular use of confidential information is a job requirement.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written with the ability to prepare reports, letters, contracts, and grant writing requirements.
  • Strong Computer software applications.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and administrative regulations.
  • Understanding of the political, social, and economic implications of infrastructure planning.
  • Ability to initiate, organize, and manage programs; assess the effectiveness of outcomes; refine methods of service delivery; and seek supervisory assistance as needed.
