Job Summary
The Non-Medical Home Care Aid provides essential support and assistance to individuals requiring care and assistance in their homes. This role involves aiding clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and providing companionship to promote their independence, well-being, and quality of life.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help clients with mobility assistance, transferring, and positioning as needed.
- Support with toileting, including assistance with using the bathroom, incontinence care, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to clients' dietary preferences and restrictions.
- Assist clients with feeding if necessary, ensuring they consume meals safely and comfortably.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying up to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and medication reminders as required.
- Engage clients in meaningful conversations, activities, and hobbies to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to alleviate loneliness and promote overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided within your Kantime app. Including daily activities, observations, and any changes in clients' conditions.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, and authorized family members regarding client’s progress, needs, and concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to care plans accurately.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must maintain regulatory training requirements, including but not limited to mandatory reporting, infection control, and any other relevant certifications mandated by local, state, or federal regulations.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, if willing to provide transportation to your client.
- Proof of insurance for personal vehicles.
- Reliable vehicle highly desirable for transportation to clients' homes and errands.
The Non-Medical Home Care Aid primarily works in clients' homes, which may vary in terms of cleanliness, accessibility, and safety. This role may involve exposure to potentially hazardous situations or infectious diseases. Flexibility in scheduling is often required to accommodate clients' needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
