Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and ARRT(MRI) certification for a 13-week travel contract in Rockford, IL.
Responsibilities- Hospital-based MRI department
- Various shift options available: 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), 4x10-hour shifts (8:00 AM–6:30 PM), or 3x12-hour shifts (8:00 AM–8:30 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM)
- 36 hours per week
- Occasional weekend shifts may be required
- On-call and holiday rotation required
- Performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Prepares and positions patients for procedures, including patient instruction and immobilization as needed
- Applies MR safety principles to minimize risk to patients, self, and others
- Selects and operates MRI systems, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment per established protocols
- Performs venipuncture, maintains venous access, and prepares and administers contrast media
- Evaluates images for technical quality and manipulates or reconstructs digital data for proper display and identification
- Uses radiology information systems including PACS for recordkeeping, archiving, and image submission for physician review
- Assists physicians with interventional procedures and practices aseptic technique and universal precautions
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team and may serve on committees or participate in department projects
- May provide practical instruction to students and clinical partners
- Flexible scheduling and shift adjustments may be required to support department needs
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program
- ARRT(R) and ARRT(MRI) certifications required
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- License required if applicable
