Facility: Mercyhealth Javon Bea Hospital – Riverside Campus
Schedule: 40 Hours Per Week
- May require occasional weekends
- On-call rotation required
- Holiday rotation required
Shift Options Available:
- 5x8s: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 4x10s: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- 3x12s: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM
The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. This role requires flexibility with scheduling, including alternate shifts, weekends, and on-call coverage as needed to support departmental operations.
The technologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team and may participate in committees and departmental projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform MRI exams under the order of a licensed medical practitioner
- Prepare and educate patients to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety
- Apply MRI safety principles to protect patients and staff
- Select and operate MRI systems, coils, and associated equipment
- Position and immobilize patients appropriately
- Select pulse sequences per established protocols
- Perform venipuncture and administer contrast media
- Verify consent and screening documentation
- Assist physicians with interventional procedures
- Evaluate images for technical quality and reconstruct digital data
- Document procedures in RIS/PACS and submit images for interpretation
- Initiate BLS when necessary
- Provide instruction to students and team members
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography program
- Prior experience as an MRI Technologist required
- ARRT Radiography (R) registration required
- ARRT MRI (MR) registration required
- Approved CPR or BLS certification required
