Job Title: CVI (Cardiac Cath / IR) Technologist

City/State: Rockford, Illinois

Shift: Day Shift with On-Call Rotation (1 Night per week, 1 Weekend per month and Holidays)

Contract Length: 10 weeks

Job Description:

Cardiovascular Intervention includes the specialties of Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Neurology, Interventional Radiology, and Electrophysiology. The candidate for this position will be trained in all of these specialties.

Responsibilities:

• Verify patient identification and informed procedural consent.
• Identify allergies and history of contrast reaction prior to any procedure.
• Verify integrity and expiration date of sterile supplies and medications.
• Prepare equipment for sterilization and monitor vital signs.
• Participate in pre-procedural time-out activity and prepare access site(s).
• Prepare the patient for examination and select appropriate contrast agent.
• Set up and operate the automatic contrast injector.
• Prepare or assist in administering injectable medications.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Scrub with the physician and use sterile and aseptic techniques.
• Advocate for radiation safety and protection.
• Position the patient and/or imaging equipment to achieve desired projections.
• Acquire and process digital images and assist with ultrasound guidance.
• Monitor and record all procedural data.
• Assist with vascular access and patient post-procedural care.
• Provide practical instruction for students and partners.

Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited radiology program.
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required.
• ARRT(R) required.
• ARRT(VI) or ARRT(CI) required.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• PALS required.
• NIHSS
