Credence has an immediate need for a Cloud Engineer to support our contract with the DLA Enterprise Sourcing, Medical and Contingency (ESMC) portfolio, providing secure cloud hosting, modernization, and sustainment for mission-critical applications within AWS Gov Cloud and AWS Secret Regions. In this role, the Cloud Engineer will manage IL4/IL5-compliant cloud environments; support the migration and optimization of major DLA systems, which collectively serve more than 250,000 government users;
implement Infrastructure-as-Code and automation to streamline deployments; ensure compliance with DoD security requirements; and deliver ongoing operational support that enhances DLA’s logistics, procurement, and contingency mission readiness.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
- Collaborate with a large team of Cloud Engineers, Solutions Architects, and Cybersecurity Professionals to migrate, manage, and modernize workloads in the cloud-servicing DoD customers.
- Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot complex problems and design and implement solutions.
- Assist team to solve complex technical problems and build automations to eliminate mundane tasks.
- Research and learn the latest available technologies to continuously find more efficient solutions to common problems.
- Document any developed processes and procedures.
- Must be clearable for DoD Public Trust or higher
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field
- Current CompTIA Security+ Certification or ability to obtain it in the first 60 days
- Current AWS Certification or ability to obtain it in the first 90 days
- Ability to work and produce results in an agile and fast-paced environment with dynamic deadlines
- Strong AWS and Terraform skills are a must
- Familiarity with basic cloud concepts (EC2/VM, service-based databases, Infrastructure as code, Virtual Networking, etc.)
- Proficiency/Familiarity with Python
- Familiarity with JSON or YAML object writing
- Understanding of orchestration tools (Jenkins, Git Lab, Ansible, or AWS SSM preferred)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation)
- Familiarity with containerization in the cloud (EKS, ECS, Fargate)
- Familiarity with common protocols including but not limited to: DNS, SMTP, HTTP(s), SFTP, SCP
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, OCI, GCP, Azure, Private Clouds etc.)
- Familiarity with Active Directory and/or other LDAP based solutions
- Experience automating tasks in a cloud or on-premises environment
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Sys Admin scripting languages (Shell, Power Shell, JavaScript)
- AWS Associate, Specialty, or Pro Level Certification
- Experience with migrating workloads to the cloud
