Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Mar-tech Engineer

We are a fast-growing marketing services firm working with brands to build high-performance, data-driven marketing systems. We don’t just run campaigns, we design and optimize the infrastructure behind them. We’re looking for a recent grad or someone early in their career who is excited about both marketing and technology, and who wants to grow into a full-stack developer or marketing systems engineer over time.

Our location in Rockford, IL is commutable from Belvidere, Machesney Park, Loves Park, and Roscoe.

What You’ll Do
  • Build, test, and deploy CRM & email campaigns for client accounts using platforms like Iterable, Hub Spot, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Work with dynamic email templates (HTML/CSS) and personalize content using customer data.
  • Manage audience segmentation, data flows, and campaign logic.
  • Support marketing automation workflows and lifecycle journeys.
  • Partner with internal teams to connect client databases, APIs, and marketing platforms.
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues across campaigns, templates, and integrations.
  • Analyze campaign data (opens, clicks, conversions) and implement improvements.
  • Write and maintain lightweight scripts or queries to support data extraction and segmentation.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in how we structure and scale marketing systems.
  • Gain exposure to full-stack development concepts through real-world projects.
What We’re Looking For
  • Recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Marketing Tech, or related field.
  • Strong interest in coding, data systems, and how software powers marketing.
  • Comfortable learning new tools and working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Technical Skills (Highly Valued)
  • Basic experience with HTML/CSS (especially for email templates).
  • Familiarity with SQL and working with structured data.
  • Understanding of APIs, data pipelines, or system integrations (even at a basic level).
  • Experience with or interest in CRM/email platforms (Iterable is a big plus).
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) for data manipulation.
Nice-to-Have (Not Required)
  • Internship or project work involving marketing tech, automation, or databases.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms or web development frameworks.
  • Personal or academic projects demonstrating coding or technical problem-solving.
Ideal Candidate

You’re someone who:

  • Enjoys both technical problem-solving and real-world business applications.
  • Wants to understand how data, systems, and software drive marketing outcomes.
  • Is curious about building things—not just running campaigns.
  • Is looking for a role that can evolve into engineering, automation, or full-stack development.
