Job Description
Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and serves as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA‑provided GIG capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC).
Position SummaryJRSS NOC Technician at Scott AFB, IL. Requires U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance. Shiftwork: rotating 24/7. Salary: $65,000 to $75,000.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform and train team on network operations, including analysis of customer traffic across MPLS and JRSS infrastructure.
- Perform real‑time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions.
- Work directly with supported customers and peers to ensure maximum network availability and minimize mission impact.
- Proactively monitor network alarms across platform‑specific tools.
- Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement, software configuration, and ASI management.
- Utilize incident management applications to document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions.
- Assess and identify resolutions to network incidents and deficiencies leveraging knowledge of routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, and out‑of‑band management.
- High school diploma and 2–4 years of experience.
- Must hold DoD‑8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) at start date.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
- Expertise in routers, switches, routing protocols, CISCO, Juniper, MPLS.
- General understanding of network topologies.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Tech control facility or cyber transport experience.
- Circuit actions and vendor experience.
- IP architecture experience.
- Telco NOC inside or outside plant experience.
- Experience with MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management.
- Certifications:
CCNA, JNCIA‑Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv
