As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for formulating system scope and objectives, validating developed requirements, testing, training, and implementing applications, constructing end user reporting, ensuring sound data quality management practices are implemented, and providing end-user support. The role works on complex issues involving US Private Wealth ecosystem and key vendors, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth.

The role will specialize in our US Private Wealth platforms, driving innovations and improvements to enhance client experiences and operational efficiency. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth, recommending, validating and documenting business requirements for assigned projects to maximize operational efficiency and ensure project control procedures and policies are executed and determine project methods and approaches, providing business support relative to developing, analyzing, and identifying process changes or system enhancements.

The role also uses judgment and autonomy on daily tasks, providing operational support for projects after implementation, including problem resolution and recommendations to ensure ongoing success. In addition to this, the Sr. BSA proactively addresses problems within the scope of responsibility and identifies areas for possible improvements and is responsible for formulating system scope and objectives, validating developed requirements, testing, training and implementing applications, constructing end user reporting and providing end user support.

The Sr. BSA will also assist in determining methods and approaches to projects aligning with enterprise governance standards, providing business support relative to the development, analysis and identification of process changes or system enhancements.

• Understanding and documenting requirements – Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Define acceptance criteria and assist with user acceptance testing to ensure successful feature implementation. Strong research, technical analysis, planning and organizational skills.
• Analyze and evaluate systems and processes across the Private Wealth and business partner landscape. Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to recommend improvements and enhancements. Detail-oriented, critical thinking skills to investigate complex problems and make sense of information. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
• Solution design / management reporting design – Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development). Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, user acceptance testing, and quality assurance. A deep understanding of the Private Wealth data ecosystem will allow for report construction to meet clients and regulatory requests.
