Bankruptcy Paralegal

LHH is partnering with a respected Chicago law firm to identify a Bankruptcy Paralegal candidate to provide essential support to the Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring team, including docketing, research, document drafting, and electronic filing. • Support attorneys on large Chapter 11 and related adversary cases.
• Draft orders, notices, certificates of service, and coordinate service.
• Review, manage, and organize documents.
• Prepare exhibits for trials and evidentiary hearings.
• Maintain detailed case logs and track deadlines.
• Summarize and organize factual data.
• Manage the bankruptcy calendar, including hearings and critical dates.
• Prepare Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 petitions, schedules, and involuntary petitions.
• Draft, review, and edit pleadings for bankruptcy and adversary matters.
• Prepare and file proofs of claim and fee applications.
• Draft and serve subpoenas.
• File documents with U.S. Bankruptcy Courts nationwide.
• Assist with claims reconciliation.
• Retrieve dockets and filings from online bankruptcy systems.
• Conduct legal research.
• Ensure deadlines are monitored and met.
• Partner with Litigation Technology, litigation lawyers, and the Fraud Team on crossover cases.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of Best Case Software.
• Strong e‑filing skills across courts and agencies.
• Excellent organization and ability to prioritize.

• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate (or equivalent experience).
• At least 3 years of litigation/bankruptcy experience.
• Preferred:
  Chapter 11 filing experience, monthly operating reports, and fee applications.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $80K and $95K.
