Purpose of the Position

To provide assistance in the cafeterias, playground, and hallways and other grounds of the building.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Assist in supervision of bathrooms, hallways, cafeteria and commons or any other area of the school building or grounds as needed or requested.
  • Accompany individual students to other areas of the building or grounds.
  • Inform administration of any problems encountered when interacting with students.
  • Assist with student safety.
  • Assist students through the cafeteria lines where needed.
  • Assist with clean up of cafeteria after meal periods.
  • Assume any other duties as may be assigned by administration.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Compensation

Base pay: $15.00 per hour.

Physical Aspects of the Position
  • Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and hands.
  • Balancing – Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratic surfaces.
  • Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling – Bending knees to come to a rest on the knee or knees.
  • Crouching – Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.
  • Crawling – Moving on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Reaching – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing – Sustained periods of standing.
  • Walking – Moving on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
  • Pushing – Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.

  • Repetitive motions – Substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
Physical Requirements of the Position
  • Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Medium Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity Requirements
  • Color, depth perception, and field of vision – Minimum standard for work involving data analysis, documentation, and visual inspection.
