Position:
Maintenance 1, Seasonal
- Performs simple maintenance duties to the buildings, grounds, and equipment according to required specifications for safety and appearance.
- Completes daily checklists as directed.
- Performs frequent routine safety checks on buildings, grounds, and equipment; files safety reports as required.
- Performs routine cleaning of building, floors, windows, restrooms, carpets, trash removal, grounds, sidewalks, trash pick-up and snow removal.
- Performs miscellaneous maintenance activities such as painting, repairing fences, setup and tear down for events, erecting and disassembling tents, hauling bleachers, cans, etc.
- Ensures that all work performed is conducted in a safe and timely manner adhering to standards of cleanliness and effective equipment utilization.
- Effectively and safely operates leaf blower, drills and other hand tools as required to get the job done.
- Maintains the athletic fields and property by trimming trees, clearing brush, and landscaping the property as required.
- Performs athletic fields maintenance and project activities including mowing, and watering of the turf.
- Maintains ball diamonds to establish standards including chalking and putting diamonds down.
- Operates utility carts, trucks and vehicles.
- Assist with parking management during events and tournaments.
- Provides quality customer service to all patrons, guests, and other District employees.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with janitorial equipment/maintenance preferred.
- Some level of leadership experience preferred.

- Valid Driver’s License
- Good communication skills including expressive, written and receptive.

- Ability to follow direction from Superintendent of Facilities and Grounds Maintenance.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Training (can be obtained through the Rockford Park District)
