Position: Maintenance/Custodian position
General Description
Rockford Area Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Maintenance/Custodian person. Must have a flexible schedule. The person in this Maintenance/Custodian position will perform a variety of custodial and maintenance duties as assigned under the leadership of the Director of Community Education and the Maintenance and Custodian Coordinators. The primary work site would be district wide.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
- Previous experience as a custodian preferred.
- Preferred to have or be able to obtain a special class boiler’s license within 6 months (increases pay $.15/hr).
- Preferred to have or be able to obtain a 2nd class boiler’s license within 18 months (increases pay $.25/hr).
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Able to work for extended periods of time walking and standing.
- Applicants will participate in a background check and provide proof of legal right to work in the United States.

Medical
Single Coverage – District pays $735 toward premium (per 1.0 fte position/pro-rated)
Family Coverage – District pays $1350 toward premium (per 1.0 fte position/pro-rated)
District contributes $550 into HSA – if enrolled in high deductible plan
Flexible Spending Acct:
Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts
Retirement:
The District contributes 7.5% of your total salary in the Public Employees Retirement Association pension plan
Employees may also elect to participate in a matching Deferred Compensation Plan
Dental:
Single coverage – District pays sum not to exceed $40 for employee only
Life Insurance:
District provides $50,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance
Long Term Disability:
Available through payroll deduction.
