Job Description - WAREHOUSE WORKER LEADER (260001YJ)
Job SummaryServes as working leader with responsibility for leading three or more warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping stock and supplies. Representative level of work led is NA-4.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates proper work methods required to start and complete assigned tasks.
- Ensures needed materials and tools are available.
- Works with associates to perform established procedures.
- Sets the pace for nonsupervisory work, matching the performance level of associates led.
- Relays instructions from supervisor to associates.
- Checks progress for compliance with supervisor instructions and work guidelines.
- Ensures work is completed within the timeframe set by the supervisor.
- Answers associates’ questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives.
- Provides information to supervisor on the status of work operations.
- Provides input for work performance appraisals and recommends leave.
- Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
- Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance and repair programs for vehicles.
- Determines maintenance and repair priorities, establishes schedules, and reviews work‑in‑process and completed work to assure compliance with established standards.
- Provides guidance for major component repairs as required.
- Ensures daily inspections of fleet equipment are performed by operators and comply with all federal, state, and DOD regulations.
- Works under general supervision of a designated supervisor, carrying out assignments and addressing problems that arise during work.
- Overall operations are reviewed for status, progress, causes of delays, and resolution of operating problems.
- Operates a forklift as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Eighteen months of experience performing warehousing related duties such as loading, unloading, receiving, storing, and maintaining reorder stock control records, or similar work that provides the knowledge and skills for the position.
- One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
Performs work on hard surfaces and in areas requiring standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May lift and carry supplies and material up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Training Requirements- Associate must receive Hazardous Material (Haz Mat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.
- Operates forklift as required.
