Overview
The Test Lab Technician performs testing on various vehicle HVAC systems utilizing test equipment for functional, operational, environmental, and life tests. Evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production assemblies as well as competitor products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Work with Test & Development engineering to review, set up, and conduct required development and validation activities.
- Conduct functional tests to measure performance of mechanical and electronic systems, assemblies, and sub‑assemblies.
- Compare test results with specifications, accurately record data, analyze results, and adjust procedures as needed.
- Create test reports and data summaries.
- Analyze defective units to determine root cause of failure.
- Help develop processes, tooling and fixtures as required.
- Recommend corrections and improvements to test procedures to simplify testing and/or assembly processes.
- Ensure that all test equipment calibration requirements are maintained.
- Effectively manage time and complete all tasks as assigned by supervision.
- Assist Production and Engineering with new product builds, BOM revisions, and development of service kits.
- High school education.
- 3 years of experience assembling or working with vehicle or industrial HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical control systems.
- Strong mechanical capabilities; ability to use a variety of hand tools and gauges, wiring, soldering.
- Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.

The budgeted range for this role is $22 USD - $30 USD per hour.
