Heat Operator - Swing Shift

Operates heat treating equipment to process parts per customer specifications and production standards, ensuring safe and efficient operations while maintaining product quality.

Work Hours: Swing Shift (6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM on a rotation)

Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00/hour, depending on experience plus, $2.00/hour shift premium

Reports To

Production Supervisor

• Operate heat-treating equipment including furnaces, ovens, and quenching systems.
• Load and unload materials or parts into designated fixtures or trays for heat treating processes.
• Oversee and adjust heat treating settings, including temperature, cycle times, and atmosphere, to meet required specifications.
• Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards, including hardness, tempering, and other metallurgical properties.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions and technical specifications.
• Perform basic maintenance and calibration on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Continually look to improve processes and procedures.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Basic mechanical skills and an understanding of heat treatment processes and equipment.

  Powered Industrial Equipment Certification.

• Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Required to stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to push/pull objects up-to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending and stooping required.
• Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
• Must be able to work in noisy environments.
• Exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and industrial chemicals.
