Machine Operator – Heat I

Our customer in Rockford, Illinois is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Machine Operator – Heat I to work full-time on 2nd shift. In this role, you will operate and maintain roll threading and grinding equipment used on large, thick working pieces while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met.

• Set up Grind and Roll equipment by following setup sheets and loading appropriate dies and tooling.
• Operate and maintain roll threading and grinding machines within a production cell.
• Load raw materials into machinery using lifts and overhead cranes as needed.
• Grind bar stock to prepare material for roll threading while maintaining required tolerances.
• Inspect parts throughout the production process using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Document daily production activity, machine performance, part quality, and material usage in the ERP system.
• Work with maintenance teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues and reduce downtime.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace using 5S standards.

• Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Ability to use required hand tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to frequently lift materials up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with large equipment and materials.

Pay: $19.00–$28.50/hour.
