Advanced Machine & Engineering (AME) is located in the heart of Rockford, Illinois.

We have an immediate full‑time opening for an experienced Mazak CNC Lathe Programmer / Set‑up & Machine Operation Operator. The candidate will perform all set‑ups, write Mazatrol programs, and have excellent knowledge of machining processes, tooling, gauge, and risk areas. The work environment is clean, modern, climate‑controlled, and safe.

• Optimize each machining process to produce the most efficient and productive output.
• Program CNC lathe using Mazatrol.
• Perform set‑ups.
• Execute all required inspection checks to ensure parts are in tolerance and meet customer requirements.
• Use correct inspection equipment and tools to perform quality checks.
• Maintain and store cutting tools, inspection tools, and specialized machine cell equipment to required standards.
• Perform daily maintenance activities such as checking fluids.
• Clean and deburr parts as required.
• Participate in QC and continuous improvement processes to increase efficiencies.

• High School diploma or equivalent work experience in tool manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years of job shop experience programming and setting up CNC lathes.
• Strong math and measuring skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and interpret computer programs sent to machine centers.
• Ability to operate large overhead crane and forklift.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
