Position Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for programming and operating inspection equipment to support production operations, performing dimensional and visual inspections, and maintaining calibration of inspection fixtures and gauges. This role provides technical support to production and support teams, serves as a liaison to resolve measurement and equipment issues, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts within manufacturing. This position offers growth potential into broader manufacturing or quality support roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, operate, and maintain inspection equipment, including Zoller, Keyence, and Alicona systems.
  • Perform in-process, final, sample, and 100% inspections for dimensional and visual characteristics.
  • Conduct inspection fixture and gauge calibration
    , including monitoring calibration schedules and records.
  • Perform minor gauge and fixture repairs and coordinate external repairs as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels for inspection supplies, gauges, and repair parts; initiate replenishment as required.
  • Research, evaluate, and order new inspection fixtures and gauges to support production needs.
  • Review and verify vendor certifications for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of written inspection and calibration procedures and specifications
    .
  • Provide technical support to production and engineering teams to resolve inspection, measurement, and equipment issues.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support quality and manufacturing objectives.
Required Skills & Knowledge
  • Proficient in traditional bench inspection techniques and measurement equipment
    .
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    , including a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Basic PC proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); familiarity with AS400 or similar systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
    , particularly metal cutting and/or grinding operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Adaptable and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Education
  • 2-year degree, with a solid foundation in mathematics and basic statistics
    .
  • Previous quality or inspection-related training, certification, or equivalent hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Willingness to pursue continued education and skill development in quality and manufacturing disciplines.
Experience
  • Experience in a metal cutting and/or grinding manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Experience with standard and custom fixture and gauge calibration strongly preferred.

The salary range for this position is $25-30.80/hr.

This is a full-time position that may require intermittent overtime based on workflow demands (including potential for long shifts and/or weekend work).

Computer literacy required; working knowledge of MS Windows platform and MS Office programs preferred.
