Under direction of the Director of Operations and in accordance with company policies and practices and operating schedules, directs, supervises, and coordinates operations activities on shift. Directs and evaluates Operations Department personnel, resolves mechanical problems, implements & monitors Preventative Maintenance Programs, and ensures that mechanical repairs are completed on a priority basis. Provides leadership and coaching in Operations Department and has the responsibility for safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Manages this area of responsibility with the customers’ needs at the center of all planning and decision-making. Responsible for identifying and correcting hazards in area of responsibility. Responsible for enforcing and complying with all safety and company policies and practices. Accountable for team members training new employees on the associated shift.
- Lead safety, quality, and production requirements in the operations department on shift
- Coach and develop team members to improve their ability to execute on shift
- Perform root cause identification and follow up for safety, quality, and performance concerns
- Maintain standards and provide insights for continuous improvement
- Provide guidance to team members on daily and weekly priorities for the department
- Audit ongoing quality audits and housekeeping tasks on shift
- Maintain good manufacturing practices in accordance with safety and quality policies
- Set expectations with team members and maintain a level of accountability
- Aid in preparation for internal and external audits
- Evaluate performance for new and promoted employees compared to training expectations
- Performs other duties as assigned to support production, quality, safety, and operational needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
- Participate in internal audits or meetings as required
- Communicate effectively with teams and supervisors regarding quality, production flow, and issues requiring attention
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the organization
- Serve as a primary resource for new and existing team members, providing guidance, answering questions and reinforcing safe work practices
- Minimum Education:
Associate degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience may be considered - Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred, but not required - Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of production supervision experience in a manufacturing environment with an associate degree, or four (4) years of production supervision experience in lieu of a degree
Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment. Computer proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel. Experience with ERP systems, CMMS, and production management systems.

Physical DemandsJob requires sitting, standing, and walking. Occasionally may require climbing, bending, reaching overhead, squatting, and awkward positioning. Infrequently lifting and push/pull may exceed 50 pounds.
