2nd Shift Supervisor

Schedule:
2nd shift with hours of 1pm to 9pm or 3pm to 11pm
A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking a hands on 2nd Shift Supervisor to lead evening operations in a fast-paced production setting. This is a strong opportunity for a people‑first manufacturing leader who enjoys building accountable teams, improving shift performance, and driving safe, efficient output. The right person will step into a visible leadership role with the chance to influence workforce development, daily execution, and overall plant performance.
The 2nd Shift Supervisor will oversee hourly production employees and help ensure the shift runs safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational goals. This leader will coordinate labor needs, support production flow, reinforce quality expectations, and work cross‑functionally with plant partners to keep operations moving.
What You Will Do- Lead second shift production activities to support daily throughput, safety, and quality targets
- Direct and support hourly team members, set expectations, and maintain accountability across the shift
- Coach employees, address performance concerns, and contribute to workforce development efforts
- Adjust staffing and workflow based on production needs, priorities, and changing plant conditions
- Partner with maintenance and quality teams to resolve floor issues, reduce downtime, and maintain standards
- Review shift performance, communicate updates, and document key operational activity for smooth handoff between teams
- Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing procedures, addressing concerns, and supporting corrective actions when needed
- Use plant systems and reporting tools to monitor operations and help drive informed decision making
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading hourly production employees in a plant setting
- Strong background in safety, quality, and production leadership
- Experience with employee coaching, performance management, and team development
- Strong communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Working knowledge of ERP, MES, SAP, or similar shop floor systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Associate degree preferred
- Ability to work on site and support second shift operations
