Monday-Friday: 6AM-2:30PM

$16-$19 Training Hourly, Piece-Rate Opportunity

To polish and grind metal items after all other machining operations are complete and meet the established rates of production.

• Polish and/or grind metal forgings by holding parts against grinding wheel, wire brush or belt sander to bring forging to finished appearance.
• Applies abrasive compound, wax, or other dressing to facilitate polishing operation.
• Perform necessary replacement and balancing of polishing wheels and belts and performs necessary adjustments of tension.
• Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education/

Experience:

• One (1) to three (3) months of related experience or on-the-job training.

• Must be able to stand at equipment for 8 hours or more per day
• Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds.
• Must have close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus on work.
• Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes or airborne particles, high noise levels, and vibration to hands.
• Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection.

• Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
