Material Handler Job Description

The Material Handler inspects, tests, cleans, and packages returned products to ensure they function correctly and meet quality standards before being reissued. This role supports production and warehouse operations by performing hands‑on tasks in a manufacturing environment and using testing equipment to verify product performance.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect returned products carefully to identify any visible defects or damage.
  • Pull in products from inventory or designated areas and verify that they power on and off correctly.
  • Test all product functions and processes to ensure they operate as intended.
  • Use testing equipment to diagnose issues and confirm that products meet quality and performance standards.
  • Clean products thoroughly to prepare them for repackaging and reissue.
  • Package cleaned and tested products securely and accurately according to established procedures.
  • Follow general production and warehouse processes, including handling, staging, and organizing products.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet production goals and timelines.
  • Document or report any defects, issues, or irregularities found during inspection and testing.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of production or warehouse experience.
  • Experience performing general labor tasks in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Ability to use testing equipment to verify product functionality.
  • Experience with product testing, including turning products on and off and checking all functions.
  • Ability to perform general production activities such as packing and handling products.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting, testing, cleaning, and packaging products.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Experience in general production, packing, or general labor roles.
  • Familiarity with cleaning processes for products and equipment.
  • Comfort working with test equipment and basic quality checks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
